Taller de Arte Sonoro (TAS) is an educational institution devoted to teaching the art and science of audio, video, and digital music technology. It was founded in 1986 by Elmar Leal, veteran and well-known audio engineer in Venezuela and the rest of the world. TAS is the first audio institution created in Latin America, and in 1990, the A.E.S. (Audio Engineering Society) selected TAS as the Venezuelan permanent section for the most prestigious and important organization of audio professionals in the world.

TAS is proud to have graduated 60 classes, and over 1,000 students in the course of 22 years of dedicated and uninterrupted work. Alumni currently work at the top audio businesses in Venezuela and South America, as well as in companies located in the United States, Europe and Australia. Specialties in the work field range from recording studios, live sound, design and setup, radio, television, multimedia, audiovisual production companies, theaters, and stores specialized in professional audio, among others. Our job placement rate is one of the highest, when compared with the other 35 schools located worldwide. TAS is the only audio school of its kind that provides instruction in Spanish..

In order to accomplish our educational mission, TAS personnel has consistently gathered knowledge that fits and adapts to the technology environment of Latin American countries; the curriculum is in Spanish, and is enriched with exclusive copy and graphic materials. These have been carefully designed and updated to meet the expectations of the current audiovisual market by offering the needed tools for the profession.
